Some of the top conservative celebrities in the country made a group visit to the White House that spawned many interesting photo shoots that made their way onto the Internet overnight. Former Alaska Governor and reality personality Sarah Palin, Detroit rap-rocker Kid Rock and classic rock artist Ted Nugent were invited Wednesday night to have dinner with President Donald Trump. Palin tweeted out after the event, “A great night at the White House. Thank you to President Trump for the invite!” Nugent was more colorful expressing his joy at being with Trump in a Facebook post: “Well well well looky looky here boggie chillin’, I got your Shot Heard Round The World right here in big ol greasy Washington DC where your 1 & only MotorCity Madman Whackmaster StrapAssasin1 dined with President Donald J Trump at the WhiteHouse to Make America Great Again!”
The three celebrities have been vocal supporters of Trump and share many of their ideals with the conservative base that Trump cultivated over the course of his presidential campaign. Palin brought the political acumen, as she was the vice presidential candidate of Republican John McCain’s campaign in 2008. She and Nugent are both heavy gun rights advocates, and Nugent was aware that Wednesday was the 242nd anniversary of the Shot Heard Round the World, which resulted in the Revolutionary War battles of Lexington and Concord. In a blog post for Deer & Deer Hunting Magazine, Nugent said this, along with public land issues, were a focus of their visit with Trump: “We discussed specifically the counterproductive follies of the Endangered Species Act and the Environmental Protection Agency, as well as the US Fish & Wildlife Service, BLM and other out of control bureaucracies.” Kid Rock’s fiancée, Nugent’s wife, and former top Trump aide Kellyanne Conway were also present at the event.
